Matthew Spinnenweber is a 2016 MIF/OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Ellisville, MO who attends Eureka HS. Young, slender build with lots of room for added strength and overall build. Hits from a narrow, slightly crouched stance and stands square to the plate. Crouches a bit more into load then stands up into swing. Hands come through from a high set and have some loop to them. Generates solid bat speed, employs line drive swing plane and hits to all fields. Could utilize lower half more in swing. Finishes high with one hand. Worked out in the infield during defensive drills. Fields everything cleanly with two hands, fundamentally sound actions, footwork is solid, consistently accurate throws across the diamond topping out at 72 MPH. Very good student.
