Aidan Smith is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Hampstead, NC who attends Topsail High School. Young player with a small build, medium, projectable frame and room to fill out with growth. In the field, showed good footwork in the outfield and got carry on his throws that reached 79 from the outfield. At the plate, used a wide stance and a toe tap timing mechanism. Inside hand path with some bat speed and an opposite field, contact oriented approach. On the mound, three quarter arm slot with an online delivery and good hip rotation throughout. Worked fastball to both sides of the plate with slight armside life, topped out at 78. Generated weak contact and missed bats. Should continue to improve with age. Good student.
