Joseph DeMasi is a 2017 SS/3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Lilburn, GA who attends Parkview. Large frame with lean, athletic present build; very good projection remaining on body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.03 seconds. Sets up to hit from even-based stance with low back elbow and medium-level hand set, shows good hand quickness into compact, inside-out swing path on line drive plane. Good jump off the barrel with bat speed and varying leverage, gets the head out and shows ability to drive the ball, willing and able to work to all fields when hitting. Worked out defensively in a pair of spots. Bends well at the waist in the infield, fields cleanly out front with two hands and good glove work overall, moves well into crow hop and shows good arm strength across the diamond up to 81 MPH. Showed well in the outfield as well, moves well to the ball and lines it up before fielding cleanly through it with momentum, has whippy and quick arm stroke through release with projectable arm strength, clocked up to 82 MPH on throws from the outfield.
