Eddie Kutt is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Westlake Village, CA who attends Westlake. Large frame with a solid build and present strength throughout. Ran a 7.91 sixty yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a smooth paced temp delivery. Creates a compact arm cirlce back at separation and release from a three-quarters arm slot through extension. Generated good downhill angle and arm speed on a fastball that ranged in the mid 80's, topped at 87 mph. Produces some body tilt at gather, but was able to work back over front side while staying balanced and on line when driving to the plate. Curveball has 11/5 shape with good spin and depth. Flashed a changeup in the mid 70's that showed heavy rotation with occasional sink down in the zone. Right handed hitter with a tall. upright stance and toe tap trigger. Lower half launches with linear actions to contact creating good shift. Loose, extended swing plane to contact showing good strength and jump off the barrel. Turns the barrel to contact producing loud contact to the pull side gap. Swings with intent to drive the baseball deep into the gaps flashing good bat speed through extension. Primarily looked to lift the baseball to the gaps, but showed the barrel control to use all fields. Solid two way prospect that will continue to develop with repetition and maturity. Good student. Named to 2016 West Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
