Dawson Yamaguchi is a 2017 LHP/ with a 5-10 190 lb. frame from Honolulu, HI who attends St Louis. Yamaguchi has a medium sized frame with a thick build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action. His arm works and he has arm speed. Yamaguchi has a repeatable delivery and works downhill well. He has a balanced delivery and works quick. Yamaguchi works down in the strike zone and threw 3 pitches for strikes. He gets some run on his fastball and located it well. He throws a 1/7 curveball with good shape and some bite to it. He also throws a good change up at 77 MPH with good sink to it. It has deception and is a very good pitch. Yamaguchi is a pitchability lefty with good off speed stuff and feel for all 3 pitches. Interesting 2017 who knows how to pitch. Named to Top Prospect Team.
