Michael Wu is a 2017 3B/1B, RHP, 2B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Wesley Chapel, FL who attends Sunlake. Large frame, mature, thick build. Right handed hitter, high hands set. Small leg lift and toe raise, inside hand path, can be early to frontside. Shows solid, consistent contact when extended, has strength and carry off of the barrel to the pullside. Solid arm strength, soft hands in the infield, could work through the ball better, still developing footwork. Also pitches, deliberate delivery with measured steps into leg lift, loads on backside. Pause at height of leg lift, works to a high 3/4's arm slot, builds momentum, some late energy at delivery, stays balanced well. Fastball up to 81 mph, shows ability to throw strikes with pitch and locate to gloveside. Also mixed in curveball in upper-60s with 12/6 shape, has decent depth, shows occasional sweeping action at times. Very good student.
