Jose Luis Torres is a 2021 C/3B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Miami Christian. Ran a 7.24 second 60-yard dash. Stocky frame with present strength to build. Primary catcher, worked out behind the dish with a slightly side straddle setup, has quick feet and gains good ground to the bag, quick release through over the top slot with strength and tremendous accuracy popping down to a 1.88 second best pop time. Right-handed hitter, sets up wide in the lower half with high hands and a high back elbow using a toe tap trigger for timing. Swings hard on a line drive swing path, generates good bat speed and finds the barrel at a consistent rate creating line drives to the middle of the field and either gap. Great student.
