Matthew Santos is a 2015 SS/OF/2B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Ozone Park, NY who attends Benjamin N Cardozo HS. Santos has a lean build with room to fill out. Hits from a slightly open stance, quiet set up, toe tap trigger, short quick swing with a line drive plane. Good balance and extension. Shows good bat speed and has aggressive approach. Mainly opposite field to mid field contact, projects as lead off hitter. Defensively, worked out from both the INF and OF, from the INF, more natural actions from SS, does good job getting on top of the ball and has accurate throws, works well through ball on backhand, arm works well. From the OF, has long release out front, ball will carry out of hand, does good job getting through ball. Named to Top Prospect List.
