2015 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Drew Luckey is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 5-11 172 lb. frame from Beaufort, SC who attends Beaufort. Medium frame with athletic, lean build at present with excellent physical projection remaining on body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.16 seconds. Hits from wide spread stance with big stride, high hand set to start, shows strong hands throughout swing, good shift into contact with line drive swing plane and solid barrel control. Raw tools are present to be high level hitter. Some lift in swing, shows present gap power with more on the way with continued strength gains. Worked out defensively in the OF, moving to the ball well and getting into good, balanced fielding position. Fields ball a bit deep between feet, good athletic gather and crow hop, shows quality arm strength up to 79 MPH. Pitched as well, shows longer arm action with some wrap in back, up to 3/4 slot, drop and drive mechanics with good lower half usage, FB worked 73-76 with slight life to arm side. CB worked in the mid 60's with slurvy 10/4 shape, quality break. Very good student.
