Carter Phillips is a 2017 C/ with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Johns Creek, GA who attends Johns Creek HS. The primary catcher has a compact frame that projects to add size as he matures. Showed well in the catchers workout posting a solid round of throws to second base. He was consistently accurate to the bag, showed good balance through his movements, and has a strong arm. At the plate he has a wide stance while holding the hands high above the shoulder. Simple mechanics start the swing as his stride separates, strides forward and swings with quick hands, got better as the batting practice rounds progressed driving two balls deep into the outfield. Great student.
