Shawn Ligocki is a 2016 RHP/SS, 3B, OF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from West Chicago, IL who attends St Charles East. Medium frame with lean build. On the mound shows a repeatbale overtop arm slot that generates some downhill plane. Was in the strikes zone often with fastball ranging from 75-77 mph. Pitched to contact and showed some ability to miss the barrel of hitters. Shows a shorter slider with vertical tilt, topped at 71 mph. Has best comamand and movement when delievery is balanced. Composed and poised on the mound. Slightly open stance with a toe tap trigger at the plate. Mid-field to pull side approach with rotational hitting mechanics and a line drive swing plane. Good rhythm to swing with quick, compact hand path to contact. Barrel tends to be in and out of zone quickly. Shows ability to hit to all fields when staying on contact with extension. Long, loose arm actions with accuracy in the infield. Topped at 75 mph across. Surrounds the ball well to both sides and generates online direction to bag on throws. Good student as well.
