Kel Bordwine is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cypress Ranch. Large frame with good projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.53 seconds. Primary pitcher, medium-length arm stroke through the back up to high three quarters arm slot, generates good plane downhill, fastball worked 82-86 MPH with heavy life. Commanded fastball to both sides of the plate with ease. Showed slider with good tightness and shorter break, curveball is 11/5-shaped with good depth and some hammer snap, mixed all of his pitches and pounded the zone. Hits from even stance with toe tap trigger out of high hand set, inside-out swing path with hands in front of barrel, did a good job working to all fields. Worked out in the outfield, worked well to and through the ball, fielding cleanly before showing off impressive arm strength and carry on throws clocked up to 86 MPH. Named to 2016 Fall Academic Showcase Top Prospect List, very good student.
