John Hayes is a 2017 RHP/SS with a 6-2 150 lb. frame from Greenwood Village, CO who attends Cherry Creek HS. Tall and slender young build, minimal present strength. Compact loose arm on the mound, mid 3/4's arm slot, hides the ball well in back and has some deception in his delivery. Low 70's fastball, gets the ball low in the zone and gets lots of run and sink, ground ball pitcher, tends to get hit when he elevates his fastball. Soft curveball with developing spin and depth. Showed some young athleticism in the infield, has soft quick hands and fields the ball cleanly. Right handed hitter, hand drop load to start swing, line drive swing plane with spray contact to all fields. Should keep improving with additional strength and physical maturity. Very good student.
