Byron Hood is a 2014 RHP/IF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Roca, NE who attends Norris HS. Tall lanky frame, slender immature build with a lot of room to fill. Pitches from a three quarter arm slot, long loose arm action, projectable arm strength. Sound mechanics, long stride towards home plate, good tailing life on two-seamer, good spin rate and depth on 11-5 curveball, potential out pitch, changeup thrown at BP fastball velocity. Very projectable on the mound, chance to develop into a high level pitching prospect with development. Good hitting tools as well, quick hands, long fluid swing, potential to develop power as he matures physically. Solid defensive infield actions, quick release time, projectable arm strength.
