PG Grade: 7
Matthew Childree is a 2015 MIF/RHP, 3B with a 5-11 173 lb. frame from McDonough, GA who attends Strong Rock Christian School. Medium, athletic frame with a lean and projectable build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, takes short steps to the ball, full and quick arm action on throws with carry, getting on top will help keep throws down. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot, gets weight out front early. Topped out at 81 mph with his fastball and showed a nice feel for a 12-6 curveball at 69 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with a low hand set and shows a sound approach at the plate. Uses a leg lift timing trigger, swing has length but shows a nice feel for the barrel and ability to hit the ball to all fields with line drive contact. Good student.
