Sam Schissel is a 2008 LHP/1B/OF with a 6'0'', 170 lb. frame from Racine WI, who attends Bradford. Sam has a medium build with a strong core. Sam pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a long loose arm action. He has a live arm and works quick on the mound. Sam uses drop and drive mechanics and is tough on lefties. He throws a curveball that has depth. Sam has good command of his pitches and is consistently around the plate. At the plate, Sam starts with a wide stance and a low hand set. He uses a no load appraoch and has some lift in his swing. Sam makes consistent solid contact and showed the ability to hit the ball to all fields. Sam is a good young follow and is a very good student.
