2023 Fall Midwest Workout Showcase
Logan Burchfiel is a 2025 SS/RHP, MIF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Creighton Preparatory. A bigger frame with some athleticism in the build. Strength showed throughout. Ran a 6.68 60-yard dash. He's a primary infielder who had athletic footwork, moving well overall, showing some snatch to the hands. Softer hands. He stayed low to the ground,, showed the pocket early,, and was accurate on his throws across the infield. Threw 81 mph across. A right-handed hitter with an even base, open feet, and higher set hands and the back elbow up. He loads deep with some coil to the inward move to contact. He was rotational with some quickness, showing off some good barrel speed with accurate throws. Real good overall during the round of BP swings, peppering balls to left, left center, and center. He was able to elevate and produce some loud results with carry to he gaps. Uncoiled well through the swing. Produced a 91 mph exit velocity during PG Tech Testing. He also took to the mound for a bullpen. The right-handed pitcher sidesteps into a leg lift with the knee getting up just above the belt with some coil to the delivery. Shortens the leg lift out of the stretch. He threw from a higher three-quarters arm slot and a shorter arm stroke through release. He hides it w,ell and the fastball has a ton of arm-side life to it. Showed a changeup with good depth to it. He also showed a lateral slider. Fastball command was good as he was able to locate well to both sides of the plate, and also locate in the lower third of the zone. Excellent student. Named to 2023 Fall Midwest Workout TP List.
