Ian Choi is a 2029 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Fairfax Station, VA. Long, lean build with some strength present and plenty of physical projection remaining. 7.66 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman, works through the baseball at a deliberate pace and showed some feel for creating angles to it. Stays behind the ball but occasionally stabs at it with the glove. Showed ability to make plays on the run. Delivered accurate throws up to 83 mph across the diamond. Secondary pitcher, operates from a full wind-up delivery with a leg lift up to the chest. Pushes off the first base side of the rubber. Separates into a deep arm path before accelerating into a low 3/4 arm slot. Arm comes through relatively easy as he finishes over his front-side. Maintains his direction well. Fastball had some running life to it, ultimately peaking at 87 mph. Mixed in a short slider with late break for strikes. Can pronate his changeup well and create arm-side fade. Struck out all six batters he faced. Offers plenty of upside from a physicality and velocity standpoint. Right-handed batter, starts in a narrow, upright stance with a high back elbow and high hand set-up. Utilizes a small stride for timing before working into a line drive stroke. Creates good separation with some length through the zone. Swing can get too elongated at times. Impacts the baseball with good strength when timed up. Projects for more power with additional strength. Posted an exit velocity of 89 mph.
