LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2003 National Showcase
Greg Davis is a super star student who can play baseball at a high level. Ivy League schools need to take a close look at this kid. Davis was a late addition to the PG National Showcase and we’re glad that he came. We hope that the college coaches not only noted his ability on the field but also the announcement over the PA about Davis’s academics. He has to rank among the top scholars in the 2004 prospect class. Congratulations! On the field, Davis showed a good range of tools. He ran the 60 in 7.03 and moved round the infield and bases with agility. His actions defensively are a bit raw at second base but he made all the plays and showed a special ability to turn the double play. Davis probably had the quickest pivot at the event and had close to average arm strength. Offensively, Davis made solid contact and hit the ball hard to the opposite field. He’ll have to smooth out his approach some, but he had good bat head skills and enough bat speed to think that there’s plenty of room for improvement. This kid can play and more importantly he is one big winner and a pleasure to be around!
