Vito Verni is a 2024 SS/OF with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Buffalo, NY who attends Canisius High School. Compact built athlete with solid actions present. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, has corner actions and footwork right now, making the plays cleanly with accurate throws across, gamelike round with under control actions, works well to both sides of the ball, handled the spot nicely. Secondary outfielder, works through it well, has an idea for carrying momentum, similarly under control actions out in the grass, fundamental round. Left-handed hitter, hands by the chest, double toe tap trigger, direct path to it, worked low line drives all over the field, has some feel for the barrel with some hand speed present, contact driven and consistent stroke. Solid overall player with actions that work on both sides. Great student.
