David Santiago is a 2026 C/3B with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Clermont, FL who attends South Lake. Smaller young build with lots of growing in front of him. Right handed hitter, starts from a narrow stance with a clean stride into his swing, line drive swing plane, swing tends to get grooved into his preferred zone, bat speed will continue to improve with additional strength. 8.12 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, young footwork, tends to stand straight up to throw, makes accurate soft throws. Also worked out in the infield. Took a turn on the mound, works from a full delivery with a big side step start, drop and drive lower mechanics down the mound, 3/4's arm slot. Threw strikes with a low 70's fastball, changed his arm slot for deception at times. Also got some spin on a soft curveball.
