Dallas Newkirk is a 2029 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Ormond Beach, FL who attends Seabreeze. Shorter athletic build with some compact young strength to build on. Right handed hitter, sets up in an open stance with a high hand load and inward toe tap timer, compact swing path with a gap to gap approach, timing was very consistent and made good barrel adjustments, showed the ability to create bat speed in the game and impact the ball with some carry. 7.38 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has active and quick feet and works behind and through the ball well, fields it cleanly with a quick release, made accurate throws from multiple arm slots, more a second base projection at present but has skills/tools. Took a turn on the mound, works from a hybrid delivery with compact mechanics and a mid-3/4's arm slot, tends to open his front side early. Fastball topped out at 80 mph with some short running action and was thrown for strikes. Mixed in a two-plane slurvy breaking ball for strikes as well. Excellent student.
