Vance Kurokawa is a 2025 SS/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Chicago, IL, who attends DePaul College Prep. A taller and more athletic frame, showing some strength. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. A primary shortstop who worked out on the infield with athletic actions and clean angles working to the ball. He had a clue for the spot with smooth actions funneling through the throws. Quick hands & transfer. Had some whip to the arm as well, throwing 83 mph across the diamond. Good arm strength. He gets the glove down early, fields it deep, and had a good round overall. A switch hitter. As a left-hander, it's an even base using a smaller hovering leg lift trigger. He was looking to pull with quick hands and some length through the swing. Had some strength to the swing. As a right-hander, it's the same setup, with quick hands and hard turns through contact, working to the pull-side once again as well with his BP swings as a right-hander. Showed some more strength at impact as a right-hander. Produced an 81 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Great student. Named to 2024 Chicago Indoor Showcase TP List.
