Matthew McKelvey is a 2023 RHP/ with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Dundas, ON. Physical and durable body. Taller frame with a larger build. Uses a big rocker into a leg lift up around the belt. Has a longer arm stroke working into a high three-quarters arm slot. High glove front point as he works downhill. Throws a ton of strikes and looks to mix his pitches up as needed. He has a fastball up to 81 mph while holding 79-81 mph for the most part. The pitch had good arm-side run and he was able to establish the arm-side part of the strike zone with the pitch. He paired the fastball with a slider. His slider is in the low-70s and has horizontal movement to it. Struck out three opposing hitters over three innings of work.Good student.
