Anthony Hernandez is a 2029 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-7 175 lb. frame from Rockwall, TX who attends Rockwall-Heath. Larger frame with some strength present and more to project for. 7.36 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop, gets a decent first step on the baseball and works through it well. Showed a developing feel for adjusting the glove to his right and on the run. Has some footspeed and lateral range in the dirt. Recorded arm strength up to 83 mph on throws across the diamond. Secondary pitcher, operates from a controlled full wind-up delivery with a coiled belt-high leg lift. Separates into a deeper arm path before releasing the baseball from a high 3/4 arm slot. Repeats his lower-half mechanics well. Fastball had some heaviness to it with good location throughout the strike zone. Pitched to contact with a fastball-heavy diet, topping it out at 83 mph. Right-handed batter, starts in a wide stance with tight hands and a high back elbow. Utilizes a quick toe-tap trigger for timing before working into a direct line drive stroke. Maintains his posture and direction well through impact. Produced fairly consistent contact to the middle of the field during batting practice. Projects for more power with additional strength. Posted an exit velocity of 85 mph. Good student.
