Dwight Tanaka is a 5'8" 160 pound 2007 middle infielder and outfielder from El Sobrante, California who attends De Anza High School. He has a compact small frame and build. He is a headsy fiery player that is very reliable in the field with soft sure hands and balanced quick feet that one needs to play the middle position. Dwight is a very good contact lead off man that knows how to work the count as well as lay down a bunt to get on base. He is a tough competitor that plays with a lot of passion for the game and never lets up no matter the score or outcome. He has an average base with good compact bat speed and ability to hit the ball to both gaps well. Tanaka is a line drive groundball hitter that will do all the little things as well. He is a very good student and has the athletic actions to play the skilled positions and be a competitor at a D1 program.
