2022 WWBA Workout Showcase (June 23)
Sully Donohue is a 2024 C/ with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Westfield, MA who attends The Macduffie. Very symmetrical current frame, with medium current muscularity and a lot of time to add over the next couple years. Ran the 60 yard dash in 8.30 seconds, which will improve over time but is less of an emphasis as he is a primary position catcher. Worked behind the plate with an initial side saddle stance and a hit high in his legs. Works through the pitch aggressively on his pop times which showed a best 2.19 seconds. He is deliberate in his transfer, with a touch of length in his arm path right now but showed good arm strength as he registered velocities up to 74 mph from behind the dish. Did shorten up mechanics as his defensive round went on and displayed good feel for his throws that were on the bag with good accuracy. RHH working from an even stance, sitting nicely in his legs and generating energy from the lower half. Toe tap trigger to get things started and created his best contact to the pull side where he showed good backspin line drives. Displayed good current hand strength and has the look of a solid offensive type backstop for the duration of his career. Outstanding student with a lot to look forward to in the next couple years.
