2022 PG Softball Winter Scouting Combine - Iowa
Abigail Rogers is a 5-foot-7, class of 2025 1B from Bettendorf, IA who attends Pleasant Valley HS. Abigail is a fundamentally sound player who shows great athletic promise. In addition to her emerging talent on the diamond, Abigail is also a standout in the classroom. She ran a 6.24 40-yard dash and was timed at 4.40 from HP to 1B. She also added a 5'7 standing broad jump. A primary first baseman, Abigail shows a solid skill level around the bag. She reads the ball off the bat well and positions with ease. She plays through the fielding action well and transitions quickly. Her longer and consistent arm action allows her 56-mph throws to have firm carry and hold their plane. All throws are routinely accurate. At the plate, this RHH shows a sound approach to the bunt game. She is even and balanced at the ready and has some quickness to her trigger. Her flat bat path, which shows lift at contact, is geared towards the middle of the field. She shows strength in her hands and flashed some natural raw power that should get even better as her career continues. Abigail has the right idea. She has the requisite ability that should allow for her game to grow as her career unfolds. Her positive body language and obvious passion for the sport is encouraging! With added strength and exposure to higher level competition, Abigail should have an opportunity to progress to the next level!
