Matthew Lerose is a 2025 LHP/1B with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Farmingdale, NY who attends Half Hollow Hills East. Large, sturdy build with well-proportioned strength present. Left-handed pitcher, utilizes a full wind-up delivery from the third base side of the rubber. Lifts his leg up to the chest as the hands break at the midsection. Separates into an inline arm path and releases the baseball from a three-quarters slot. Displayed smooth lower-half movements with good extension created while working down the slope. Filled up all four quadrants with the fastball; showed arm-side running life and topped at 89 mph. Heater ran away from several righty bats, inducing swings and misses early and late in counts. Low-70s slider showed gradual movement with two-plane tilt; kept hitters off-balance. Mixed in a changeup that killed tons of spin, showing good tumble action and deceptive fade. Struck out five batters throughout two innings of work during live action. Projects for an uptick in velocity as he continues to add strength to his frame. Ran a 4.04 thirty-yard dash. Great student. Named to the 2024 New York Indoor Showcase (Sunday) Top Prospect List.
