Troy Ryan Poppitz is a 2024 RHP/1B with a 6-3 240 lb. frame from Chaska, MN who attends Holy Family Catholic. He has a large frame with a thick build and present strength. Primary right-handed pitcher that has a knee to chest leg kick and utilizes drop and drive back leg mechanics. He lands slightly closed off to the plate, giving a crossfire look to the opposing hitters. He throws with a short and compact arm action, and fires from a 3/4 slot. He did a nice job of repeating his motion throughout his outing. He worked his fastball to all parts of the zone and featured a short slider with tight sweep across the zone as well. He trusts the slider and is not afraid to throw it in any count. Right-handed hitter that starts in a wider base with even hands and a high back elbow. He uses a leg lift trigger for timing. He does a nice job of shifting his weight through his swing and has strong hands that allow for him to hit for power.
