KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Karli Hedge is a 5'4, class of 2024 SS/UT from Clever, MO who attends Clever HS. Karli is a youthful player who shows an emerging ability based on sound fundamental play. The approach to her game is commendable and should allow her, with continued attention to detail and added strength and agility through a dedication to the weight room, to grow her a game to a point where she will have the opportunity to play at the next level. She ran a 3.47 20-yard dash with a 1.20 5-yard split. Karli shows promising skill on the infield dirt and outfield grass. In the OF, Karli, first and foremost, shows great effort, She is deliberate and sure to position. She fields with two hands, out front, like an infielder, but this action plays for her. Her 48-mph throws are consistently on target. On the IF, Karli is sure to position. Her glove is certain and consistent. Her arm operation is sound. Her 50-mph throws, again, are regularly accurate. At the plate, this switch hitter has the right idea from both sides of the plate. As a RHH she is balanced and more linear in/with her stance. She has more of a top hand dominant swing. She keeps her hands inside the ball and has a promising inside-out flat path. When on time and on plane, she makes solid contact. As a LHH, she has an obvious "contact first" mind set. She again, shows an ability to work the opposite field with her swing path. Like her operation from both sides. Karli has a great approach in all areas. She, with continued work at refining her craft, will elevate her game to prospect status. Her desire and passion for the game is unquestionably there!
