Cole Smith is a 2025 MIF/RHP with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Rock Hill, SC who attends Northwestern. Medium frame with lean current build and room to add physicality in the future. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.67 seconds. Primary position IF, with solid basic fundamentals and feel for the position. Good angles through plays presenting the glove nicely out front working through the ball. Midline transfer to classic infielders arm action where he built throws up to 83 mph across the diamond with carry and accuracy. Made all the plays. Secondary RHP, working from the full windup and using a quick cadence to his overall operation. Belt high leg lift before moving quickly down the mound and will get into early rotation from time to time. Hand break at the chest into medium inline arm path working through a high-3/4 arm angle. Tends to tilt head at foot strike and miss to arm side. FB up to 81 mph with emerging command, SL in the low-70s with late horizontal bite and CH was like firm two-seamer with good arm side run. RHH starting with an extra-wide stance, good handset at the shoulders with small stride to initiate swing. Quick hands with feel for the barrel, gets in and out of the zone quickly. When on time and in the middle of the field the ball jumped off the barrel. Very good student as well.
