KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Madeline Marvel is a 5'4, class of 2023, OF/2B from Savage, MN who attends Prior Lake HS. Madeline is a veteran upper class player who is a great effort player. Her hustle and obvious passion for the game jump out. She shows capable ability at multiple positions and has a solid hit game that projects. She ran a 3.52 20-yard dash with a 1.36 5-yard dash. A primary outfielder, Madeline's has noticeable energy and a bounce to her step. She reads the ball off the bat well and positions quickly and with confidence. She plays through the fielding action well and her glove plays. She transitions routinely and her 48-mph throws, while not the most powerful, are spot on accurate. Madeline also took a turn on the infield surface. She showed upside ability, especially should 2B be a spot for her. Footwork on the dirt appears assured and confident. Her fielding style is smooth and easy and her glove plays. Her 47-mph throws are consistently accurate. While her arm strength is a tad shy, her throws are always on their mark. At the plate, Madeline is solid. She has a vets approach to the bunt game and executes it well. She starts with a slightly closed stance and has more of an inside-out operation. She is more middle of the field and opposite filed oriented with her path. Shows some solid gap-to-gap pop. Showed some emerging power, too. Not bad at all! Should Madeline continue paying attention to detail and make a concerted effort to make the weight room her friend and add some strength to her frame, she definitely has a very projectable future at the college level. Her fundamental foundation is strong and she has a present game that is sound. She has two years of HS and travel ball to refine that ability. Appreciate her effort and "try hard" disposition that should continue to serve her well!

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
