Colt Babic is a 2027 OF/RHP/MIF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Camden, SC who attends North Central. A medium frame with a more compact build. Higher-set waist in the build with room to keep filling out moving forward. Some athleticism & twitch. Ran a 6.84 60-yard dash. He was a primary outfielder who had a high-energy round during his reps. He had active footwork with aggression working to it. Quick first step as he broke toward the ball. He comes to get it with momentum and showed the ability to maintain the momentum and complete a clean funnel into his throws. Compact release with good carry on his throws that came out at 85 mph. Some arm speed to get rid of it quickly. A right-handed hitter who has a narrow and open stance. He had tighter hands with a hanging leg lift trigger. Hands get some separation from his body as he loads. Showed some quickness through contact with good barrel acceleration. Worked back up the middle during his round of BP swings for the most part and was quick with his hands. Projectable traits in the batters' box. Produced an 87 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Added 2 hits in-game as well. He took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher who was a quick mover down the mound. He had an offset start from the wind-up with a quick sidestep into his leg lift up above the belt. Fielded his position well, with athleticism off the mound. The fastball was up to 84 mph with tons of arm-side run and sink to it. Also showed a breaking ball with a knuckle curve look to it. Real nice 11/5 shape to it. Also showed a real good changeup around 70 mph with arm-side fade to it. Threw 2.0 innings with no hits and three punchouts to his credit. Efficient outing overall. Excellent student. Named to 2023 PG Main Event TP List.
