Benicio Lujano is a 2024 3B/ with a 5-6 150 lb. frame from Carroll, IA who attends Kuemper Catholic. Recorded a 7.69 second sixty yard dash time. Small frame and thick build. Primary third baseman with solid understanding of the fundamentals, works to get into good fielding positions and gets the ball out quickly. Long arm action, fields out front and shows developing glove work at present, at his best when keeping his feet moving and ranging up the middle. Left-handed hitter with an open base and flexed knee stance, utilizes a small lift and replace trigger and has a limited load/weight shift in the operation. Very low effort and passive approach in the box with a long swing path, made contact primarily to the opposite field during his round. Developing strength and physicality at present, will improve as he increases his bat speed and gets the barrel out front. Good student.
