Mason Porven is a 2028 2B/SS with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Homestead, FL who attends ABF Academy. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, sound technique working to and through the ball, funnels with the hands well, shorter arm action through the back, strength and carry on throws will continue to develop, deliberate tempo throughout, sound actions and repeats nicely, accurate across to first base. Also pitched, controlled delivery with a belt high leg lift; long arm action through the backside, drives down the mound well and stays direct to the plate while working to a high slot. Fastball topped out at 72 mph, creates downhill plane to the fastball when extended out front, mixed a curveball with depth up to 61 mph. Sound foundation to build upon moving forward. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even base and a high hand set and lower back elbow, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Stays short and direct to the ball, repeats well and consistently on the barrel. Ball comes off hte barrel well, simple swing and repeats it nicely, on time and shows solid bat speed, nice tools offensively, recorded a top exit velocity of 85 mph in testing. Named to the 14u Main Event Top Prospect List.
