Chanz Chancey is a 2028 C/1B/3B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from New York, NY. Medium lean frame. Primary catcher that receives from a one knee down crouch, shows the athleticism to gain ground post recption with a quick exchange into a from ear release. Guided the throws down there a touch but put together competitve throws that hit the glove on the other side. In the outfield, he charges it well, securing each ball cleanly. The arm action is similar to his throws down from behind the dish, direct from the ear to release. In the infield, he works with methodical footwork in both directions but got to the fielding point on time. Glove works well to funnel it up the middle. Could benefit as a whole from added twtich and arm speed. At the plate, he sets up in a spread bent knee stance with hands high. Stays inside the ball well with majority of the contact coming through the right center gap. Got it on the barrel a couple times in game, rounded first with a big pressure turn before advancing the extra 90 feet after a slight bobble in the outfield. On the mound, he lifts to near core height with a wide open landing. Fastball attacked the zone, both offspeed pitches are loopy and identifiable out of the hand but should sharpen as he adds further velocity. 2.25 pop time. 7.52 60-yard.
