Jack Hyde is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from La Mesa, CA who attends Grossmont HS. Tall and lean athletic build, very projectable physically. Very clean and smooth delivery, has good tempo and balance, lets his arm work with a deep takeaway in back, high 3/4's arm slot, gets downhill with good extension. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, plenty more velocity there as he gets stronger, mostly straight with occasional arm side running life, threw strikes with his fastball. Change up was his best secondary pitch, good feel for it with nice arm speed and consistent fading action away from left handed hitters. Still developing release point feel on his curveball, not getting out front on the release consistently. Very interesting young arm. Good athlete, has 6.84 speed. Right handed hitter, short rotational swing with an exaggerated inside hand path. Excellent student.
