Zach Peters is a 2021 MIF/RHP with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from Garden Grove, CA who attends Los Alamitos. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength. Primary middle infielder with clean, sound footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Showed good quickness while moving laterally for the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through transfer quickly. Created accurate, on line carry across the infield topping at 84 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and reaching front side trigger. Looks to aggressively shift into contact with lower half. Deep hand load and utilizing a loose, uphill barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent and looked to drive the baseball in the air between the gaps. Also pitched showing a short side step to high leg lift delivery. Coils hips at gather and lands in line with front side. Loose arm circle at take back and released from an extended three-quarters slot. Created occasional downhill plane with a fastball offering that sat in the low 80's, topped at 84 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with tighter spin and late depth in the upper 60's. Also flashed a changeup offering in the mid 70's. Consistently looked to work ahead with fastball and utilized breaking ball as primary off speed pitch late in counts. Good student as well.
