Angelo Martinez is a 2024 OF/LHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Pico Rivera, CA who attends El Rancho. Recorded a 7.67 second sixty-yard dash time. Small, slender frame with plenty of room to add strength and physically mature. Primary outfielder with deliberate footwork into the fielding process. Fields cleanly off his front foot, maintaining momentum efficiently into a slightly uphill release. Recorded arm strength up to 72 mph during drills. Secondary left-handed pitcher that works from an abbreviated windup with a slightly coiled leg lift and good lower half movements down the slope. Creates some deception with slightly cross-fire landing and higher three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 79 mph in this look. Developing command of the strike zone that will improve with refinements of his delivery and consistent release point. Mixed in slurve shaped breaking ball that is still developing and a faded changeup that is his best secondary offering at present. Will continue to improve with additional velocity and mechanical adjustments. Took part in the first base portion of the defensive workout as well, showing similar deliberate footwork and actions to field. Displayed clean funnel out in front and decent turns to throw. Recorded arm strength up to 78 mph across the diamond. Left-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, slightly open stance with a high, tight hand set and high back elbow. Incorporates toe-tap trigger for timing and good lower half torque to turn the barrel. Slightly lofted stroke with quickness to his hands and occasional line drive impact. Middle-of-the field approach with ability to use the whole field when needed. Solid overall prospect that will continue to improve as he adds strength and has plenty of upside on the mound.
