Andrews Veras is a 2021 C/3B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Jersey City, NJ who attends Cenapec. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.99 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate, receives the ball out front, pops tall out of crouch and can continue to implement additional lower half, quick transfer into a tight release from ear, simple mechanics, blocked well in live action and handled upper-80s nicely. Similar tight release on throws across the infield, shorter shuffle moving through contact and works on top of throws, shows ability to drop slot, developing actions in the dirt. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with an even stance. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball, shows strength in hands and creates extension out front. Looseness to swing path and ball comes off the barrel well when squared, showed best carry to the middle and pull side parts of the field.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
