2004 National Academic Showcase   Jun 15, 2004
PG Grade: 8
David Knapp is a 2005 outfielder/pitcher from Marietta, GA, with a strong, well developed lower half. He showed nice arm strength from the outfield during the workout, registering 85 mph on the radar gun and also running a very credible 7.19 in the 60. Knapp threw three innings during a showcase game, pitching between 81-83 mph with his fastball with some nice tailing action. Knapp’s strike out pitch was a high 60’s curveball that was very sharp on occasion and is a good pitch for him. Knapp also looks like he can swing the bat. He generates some good bat speed with wood and had a good approach during the games. Overall, he’s a good player who has the tools to play at a very high level. David is a very good student.
