2023 Eastern Iowa Indoor Showcase
Silas Riehl is a 2026 RHP/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Linn-Mar. He has a tall frame with an athletic and lean build. Ran the forty yard dash in 5.35 seconds. Primary right-handed pitcher that pitches exclusively from the stretch. He has a swinging knee to belt leg kick and utilizes drop and drive back leg mechanics. He does a nice job of landing in line with the plate and has nice extension and finish on his pitches. He showed the ability to work his fastball to both sides of the plate and it had late life on it, generating swings and misses. His go to off-speed pitch was his curveball that had 11-5 shape with sharp break and quality depth. His change up featured slight fade that kept it off opposing hitter's barrels. Secondary outfielder that attacks the ball and fields it close to his body. He has a long arm action and does a nice job of working his body through the throws. Right-handed hitter that starts in an even base with high hands and flexed knees. He uses a small stride for timing and does a nice job of working through the baseball with his lower half. He has quick hands through the zone and a slightly uphill swing path and looks to lift the ball. He showed the ability to square the ball up to the pull side. Very good student. Named to the 2023 Eastern Iowa Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
