Brayden Wells is a 2030 C/RHP/3B with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Winter Garden, FL who attends The First Academy. Lean athletic build. Left handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a small heal turn into his swing, short stride in front, stays compact with a short swing, will cut off at times, line drive swing, was well-timed and barrel in the games and pulled the ball hard. 7.55 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up in a standard bent knee stance with a long stride into his throws, compact arm action, repeats his exchange and actions well, fairly polished actions for his age. Also worked out in the infield, has quick hands and exchanges, some range to his left, shows the glove early, threw from multiple arm slots. Took a turn on the mound, works from a full wind up with a chest high leg raise, deep arm action in back and short stride out front, low to mid 3/4's arm slot. Fastball sat in the mid-70's and topped out at 77 mph with short run and sink, also threw a 12/6 curveball with some depth. Threw strikes and competed well.
