Timothy Garvin is a 2009 SS/3B/P with a 5'11'', 145 lb. frame from Ballwin MO, who attends Parkway South. Garvin has a good body with a long lean build. He has a good projectable body and fits the MIF profile. Defensively, Garvin has quick defensive actions and showed good body control in the workout and in game. He throws with a nice loose arm action and has a quick arm. Garvin has nice hands and takes good angles to field the ball. At the plate, Garvin starts with an open stance and uses a quiet approach in the box. He swings on a nice flat path and is aggressive in the strike zone. Garvin hits the ball well to all fields and has present line drive pop. He tends to get out front in his swing but is able to generate bat speed. Garvin pitches from a H 3/4 slot and uses a short arm action. He has arm speed through release and works quick on the mound between pitches. Garvin uses his lower half well in his delivery and throws a nice 12/6 curveball for strikes. He is a good student.
