Luke Wancewicz is a 2021 C/3B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from San Jose, CA who attends Branham. Large frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch with clean footwork. Loose arm circle at exchange and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced some on line carry to the bag topping at 71 mph, best workout pop time of 2.15. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and large leg lift trigger. Works to contact with linear lower half actions. Deeper hand load and worked through the zone with a line drive barrel plane. Flashed solid bat speed and strength at contact while employing a mid field to pull side approach. Looks to attack the baseball with intent and created good carry when squared.
