Damian Balkcom is a 2027 RHP with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from New Hyde Park, NY who attends Friends Academy. Smaller medium build with plenty of room to get stronger. Works from a side step delivery with a big and deliberate leg raise coil, 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was in the upper 70's, mostly straight with some cutting action at times. Showed good feel for manipulating the shape and velocity on his breaking ball, used his breaking ball often and threw it for strikes. 5.35 runner in the forty. Right handed hitter, sets up in a slightly open base with a compact hand load, low leg raise timer, simple line drive approach with contact to all fields and occasional jump off the barrel. Will improve in all areas with additional strength. Excellent student.
