Blake Edling is a 2027 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Magnolia, TX who attends Tomball. Big and strong, especially for a 2027. Primary first baseman who graded out higher as a left handed pitcher at this event. Works exclusively from the stretch with a chest high leg raise, hides the ball well in back into a low 3/4's arm slot, loose and fast arm out front. Fastball topped out at 83 mph and got on hitters quickly with his deception. Slider was a nice pitch that over matched left-handed hitters, killed the spin well on his change up. Threw strikes with all his pitches and projects well. 7.56 runner in the sixty. Had sound defensive actions at first base defensively, moved well and had confident glove and footwork. Left handed hitter, starts from a medium base with a short move into contact, tried to work middle/away and tended to be late getting into the zone, lifting path, needs to make adjustments to use his strength at the plate. Outstanding student. Named to the High School All-State Select Championship Top Prospect List.
