Samuel Cook is a 2023 C/1B, 3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Shubuta, MS who attends Wayne Academy. Recorded a 8.54 60-yard dash time. Primary catcher with a medium build and square shoulders. Starts from a lower set with slightty staggered feet behind the plate. Employed a short arm action and throws were accurate and all near the bag. Right-handed hitter and starts from a medium, balanced base with even feet and a deep hand set. Keeps load very simple with a minimal hand movement and a small stride. Swing is hands-oriented with the bat path being short and quick to the ball. Showed some leverage and lift through the zone. Excellent student.
