2026 PG National Academic Showcase (Tues-Wed)
Brody Ray is a 2027 3B/C/RHP with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Destin, FL who attends Destin High School. Stronger athletic build with some physical projection remaining. Right handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a power swing approach at the plate, steep into the zone and lifted and extended out front, has power when the barrel gets out front with more to come. 7.31 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, has step by step actions to the ball, deliberate exchange, some carry across the diamond. Also worked out behind the plate and has a higher ceiling and better athleticism as a catcher, received the ball well with a clean transfer, made accurate throws with some carry, needs some refinement but the tools and body are there. Took a turn on the mound, works from a short side step delivery with a belt high leg raise and a full arm swing to a 3/4's arm slot, deliberate pace down the mound. Threw strikes with a fastball that topped out at 81 mph to go with a 11/5 curveball with some depth. Excellent student.
